Ben Kriechel is managing director at Economics & Data ED23 GmbH. He is an expert in labour market research and research methodology. Ben specialises in personnel and labour economics, education economics, and empirical methods. He has worked and led projects on skills forecasting, skills mismatch, and labour market information systems in several countries for international organisations such as Cedefop, ETF, the European Commission, ILO, OECD and UNESCO.

Ben Kriechel has taught personnel economics, labour economics, and empirical methods courses. Ben graduated ('cumLaude') from Maastricht University, where he also obtained his PhD based on research focused on the large-scale displacement of workers combining firm-level and survey data. He has visited Brandeis University, the NORC at the University of Chicago and the IZA in Bonn.

Before founding Economics & Data, continuing his work from Economix Research & Consulting, he worked at ROA (Maastricht University). He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate and became a Research Fellow in May 2004. He stayed at IZA as a Visiting Research Fellow from May until October 2008.
