Guido Heineck

Guido Heineck is Professor of Empirical Microeconomics at the University of Bamberg since December 2011. He studied economics in Bamberg (1992-1998) and Jyväskylä (Finland, 1995/96). He earned his Ph.D. in economics at the University of Bamberg in 2004, and his post-doctoral qualification (Habilitation) at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2009. He was research assistant at the University of Bamberg (1998-2003), the University of Munich (2003-2004), the Austrian Institute for Family Studies, Vienna, (2004-2005) and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (2005-2009). He was Head of the Research Department "Education and Employment over the Life Course" at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), Nuremberg (2009-2011).

His research interests include labor economics, population economics and economics of education. His work has been published in journals such as Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Journal of Population Economics, Economics of Education Review, and Labour Economics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2010.
