Astrid Marie Jorde Sandsør is an Associate Professor at the University of Oslo and a researcher at the Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU). She completed her Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Oslo, Norway in 2016. She is one of the principal investigators in the Center of Excellence for Research on Equality in Education (CREATE), a member of the Young Academy of Norway, a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and a CESifo Research Network Affiliate.
Her research interests cover a range of areas in Economics of Education, Labor Economics and Public Economics. Her research includes studies on admission to education, educational inequality, education finance and the effects of universal childcare, small-group instruction, class size and after-school programs on student performance. Her work is published in journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, Educational Researcher, Economics of Education Review, Higher Education, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics and the European Journal of Political Economy.
Astrid Marie Jorde Sandsør joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2024.
