Nabanita Datta Gupta is Professor at Department of Economics and Business Economics, Aarhus University, has served on the chairmanship of the Economic Council of Denmark, is past member of the Danish Social Science Research Council and past executive committee member of the EALE. Her PhD is in Labor Economics from Cornell University, 1992. She has been previously employed as Assistant Professor at the School of Industrial Management, NJIT, Associate Professor at the Aarhus School of Business, Aarhus, visiting scholar at Cornell University’s ILR School in 1993-1994, Research Professor at SFI-The Danish National Center for Social Research, and visiting scholar at the NBER in 2006-2007.
Her research interests include gender wage differentials, discrimination, education, occupational choice, retirement and pension systems, health economics and microeconometric analyses of economic development. Her articles appear in American Economic Review Papers & Proceedings, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Public Economics, European Economic Review, Games and Economic Behavior, World Development, Health Economics, among others.
She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2005.
