Christopher Jepsen

Research Fellow

Dr. Christopher Jepsen is a professor at the School of Economics at University College Dublin (UCD), a fellow at the UCD Geary Institute for Public Policy, and an affiliate of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Kentucky. Previously, he worked at the University of Kentucky and at the Public Policy Institute of California.

He earned a PhD in Economics from Northwestern University and a B.A. in mathematics from Grinnell College.

His primary research areas are in the economics of education and labor economics, with a particular focus lately on the labor-market returns to vocational postsecondary schooling.

Prof. Jepsen’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Labor Economics, the Journal of Human Resources, and the Journal of Urban Economics. He was a Marie Curie research fellow, and he has received research support previously from agencies such as the Spencer Foundation, the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the American Educational Research Association.

He joined IZA as a research fellow in September 2015.
