Jörg Breitung studied Economics at the University of Braunschweig and Hannover (Germany). He received his PhD in 1992 from University of Hannover and finished his Habilitation in 2000 at the Humboldt-University Berlin. He was a visiting professor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and the University of Göttingen. Since 2002 he is a full professor of econometrics at the University of Bonn. His research interests are univariate and multivariate time series, cointegration, panel data analysis and microeconometric models. He has published in journals such as Journal of Econometrics, Econometric Theory, Journal of Business and Economics Statistics, Journal of Time Series Analysis and he is an Associated Editor of the Journals Empirical Economics and Computational Statistics.
He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2004.
