Gabriele Cardullo is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Genova.

He received a Ph.D. in Quantitative Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain and the Paris School of Economics in 2006 and a Master in Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain in 2003.

His primary research interests are the effects of labour market institutions on productivity, investment, and unemployment. Prof. Cardullo’s current research projects also examine the role of place based policies on welfare and inequality across regions.

His work has been supported by grants from National Bank of Belgium and the Fondazione Carige. His research has been published in journals including European Economic Review, Labour Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Journal of Public Economic Theory.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in November 2020.
