Hai-Anh H. Dang is a Senior Economist in the Living Standards and Measurement Unit, Development Data Group, World Bank.  His main research is on international development, poverty, inequality, climate change, and data imputation methods. He has published in various leading journals, including Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Lancet Psychiatry, Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Scientific Data, World Development, and chapters with books published by prestigious academic publishers. He holds fellowship positions with different organizations and universities, including Research Fellow positions with IZA and GLO,  visiting Senior Research Fellow positions with Indiana University's Paul O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, London School of Economics and Political Science's International Inequalities Institute, and International School, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He also serves as an associate editor of Journal of Economic Surveys and a co-editor of Review of Development Economics, on the editorial boards of other journals, and as a referee for more than 50 academic journals. His research is widely disseminated, including being among the top paper downloads on IZA and REPEC and being featured in various media outlets such as Foreign Policy, the Telegraph, Center for Global Development blog, and other local news.  He has contributed to more than 70 World Bank's projects and flagship reports covering different countries around the world.  He received his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, USA.

Hai-Anh Dang joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 2019.
