Joshua J. Lewer

Joshua J. Lewer is Robert A. McCord Professor of Executive Management Development and associate professor of economics at Bradley University, where since 2007 he teaches courses in macroeconomics and globalization. Prior to 2007, he was the Gene Edwards Professor of Banking at West Texas A&M University. Joshua received a B.A. degree from Augustana College in 1995 and a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2000.

Dr. Lewer has published more than 40 referred journal articles in the broad fields of immigration, globalization and economic growth. In 2007, his first book entitled International Trade and Economic Growth was published by M.E. Sharpe and the second edition of Principles of Macroeconomics was published in 2016 by Congella Academic Press. An additional book on immigration and economic growth is currently in progress.

Joshua serves on the editorial board of several leading academic journals, won the McGraw-Hill/Irwin Distinguished Paper Award in 2009, and was awarded the First Year Teaching Award at Bradley University in 2008.

He has been an IZA Research Fellow since March 2009.
