Chiara Monfardini is professor of econometrics at the University of Bologna since 2017. She received her PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in 1997. Her recent research interests cover microeconometric methods (especially discrete choice models and count data models) as well as their application to topics such as human capital investment; children and adolescents time use, development and health, gender gaps. She is a member of the Centre for Household, Income, Labour and Demographic Economics at Collegio Carlo Alberto (CHILD-CCA, Moncalieri, Torino) and of the Health, Econometrics and Data Group (HEDG, York).

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in September 2008.
