D. Mark Anderson

D. Mark Anderson is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics & Economics at Montana State University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Washington in 2011.

Dr. Anderson is an applied microeconomist with research interests in health economics and economic history. His research has appeared in journals such as the Journal of Political Economy, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, and Journal of Economic Literature.

Currently, Dr. Anderson is studying the relationship between U.S. public health interventions and mortality at the turn of the 20th century. He is also broadly interested in the historical relationship between medical innovation and the Black-White infant mortality gap.

Dr. Anderson joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in July 2016 and became an IZA Fellow in November 2021.
