Ian Li is an economist based in Perth, Western Australia. He is currently Director of Research and Policy at the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education, based at Curtin University.
Ian’s research spans several policy areas, including higher education, labour markets and health. Recent research work includes studies of higher education equity policy and outcomes in Australia, determinants of well-being in high income and low-middle income economies, health workforce issues, and economic evaluation of healthcare programs.
Ian’s research has been successfully funded through multiple nationally competitive grants, and he has published in top international journals. Ian has also consulted for the government and industry, including for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (Australia), the Australian Drug and Alcohol Office, and MediBank.
Ian joined IZA as a Research Fellow in December 2020.
