Jonas Agell was Professor of Economics at Stockholm University. His research interests were at the intersection of labour economics, public economics and macroeconomics. His most recent research studied the reasons for wage rigidity, the economics of crime, and the future of the welfare state. His publications appeared in e.g. the American Economic Review, Economica, Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal of Monetary Economics and Journal of Public Economics. Agell was also one of the two managing editors of the Scandinavian Journal of Economics. He became an IZA as a Research Fellow in December 2004.
Jonas Agell passed away in July 2007 at the age of 50.
