Ms. Yoonyoung (Yoon) Cho is a labor economist at the Social Protection and Labor Global Practice in the World Bank.
Yoon has been working on issues related to labor markets including skills, entrepreneurship, activation and graduation, migration, and labor market intermediation, particularly focusing on the poor and vulnerable. She has worked in several countries in multiple regions. More recently, she has been focusing on issues related to the design and implementation of labor and safety net programs in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines. She has published papers in various peer-reviewed journals and is also actively serving as a peer reviewer for academic journals as well as the Bank’s knowledge products. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in January 2013.
