Mari Tanaka is an Associate Professor in Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo and Institute of Economic Research at Hitotsubashi University. She received a Ph.D in Economics from Stanford University in 2016.
The areas of her study are labor, development, and international economics, and economic history. Her research mainly focuses on firm organizational practices and labor market institutions in developing economies and Japan.
