Dr. Maggie Switek is Senior Director of the Research Department at Milken Institute. Before joining the Milken Institute, Dr. Switek worked in academia and consulting, developing a broad range of expertise in competition economics, labor, public policy, and well-being. Her experience includes working with counsel and enforcement agencies to evaluate the impacts of mergers, acquisitions, price-fixing, and other competition matters. In research, Dr. Switek’s interests include well-being, migration, and regional economics.

She has published studies related to the effects of public social spending on quality of life in Latin America, the effects of rapid economic growth (and accompanying economic changes) on well-being in China, and on migration patterns among young adults in Sweden.

Maggie joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in August 2012 and became a Research Fellow in July 2014.
