Tomáš Jagelka is a postdoctoral scholar with Professor Thomas Dohmen at the University of Bonn and has a visiting appointment at the Center for the Economics of Human Development at the University of Chicago. He is an applied microeconomist with interests in experimental economics, behavioral economics, labor economics, and empirical industrial organization.

Tomáš received his Ph.D. in economics from École Polytechnique - CREST in 2019 and his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 2011.

His current research focuses on improving the measurement of preferences and skills using structural econometric methods. The objective is to identify the number and nature of skills required to adequately characterize human potential. His work was recognized by the French Economic Association (Best PhD in economics defended in France in 2019) and by the International Association for Applied Econometrics (Best paper presented by a PhD student).

Tomáš is a member of the ECONtribute Cluster of Excellence and an IZA Research Affiliate since May 2020.
