Muhammad Yasir Khan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and Fellow at the Center for Governance and Markets and Mahbub ul Haq Research Centre a LUMS.

Yasir’s research interests lie at the intersection of Development Economics, Behavioral Economics, and Political Economy. He has uses field experiments and quasi-experimental methods to undertake research on the incentives and preferences of public sector personnel, motivations of politicians, and social norms affecting women's participation in politics.

He received Ph.D. from Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley. He did his undergraduate at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan where he was a National Outreach Program student. After undergrad, he did double masters at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University New York.

Yasir joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in May 2023.
