Matthias Schündeln is Professor of Economics at Goethe University Frankfurt. Prior to joining Goethe University in 2009, he was Assistant Professor at Harvard University. He obtained his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University in 2004. His current research focuses on development economics, including empirical analyses of firm behavior in developing countries and applications of methods of program evaluation. Matthias Schündeln’s publications include papers in The Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Politics, World Development, the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, and the Journal of Law and Economics.

Matthias Schündeln joined IZA as a Research Fellow in January 2006.
