James Albrecht

Jim Albrecht is Professor of Economics at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He was previously at Columbia University, New York University, and the University of California at Irvine. He holds an M.A. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley. His main research interest is in search theory, especially unemployment and wage setting in the labor market, and most of his publications are in this area. He is also interested in empirical labor economics and recently has done work on the gender gap across the distribution. He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in November 2000.
