Ugo Trivellato is Emeritus Professor of Economic Statistics at the University of Padova, Italy, where he served as Professor from 1980 to 2010. His teaching and research experiences include appointments at CES - Center for Economic Studies, Ludwig-Maximilian University, Münich, CLS - Centre for Labour Market and Social Research, University of Aarhus, the Department of Economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Department of Statistics, University of Uppsala.

His main interests are in labour statistics and modelling of labour supply and unemployment, programme evaluation, structural equation models with measurement errors. Previous research focused also on two other themes: data revisions and dynamic economic modelling, Markovian models of the educational process.

He has published extensively in various journals, among which European Economic Review, Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society - Series A, Labour, Quality & Quantity, Ricerche Economiche (now Research in Economics), Statistica, Survey Methodology.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in July 2008.
