Michael Johannes Böhm

Michael J. Böhm is Professor of Empirical Economics at TU Dortmund. Prior to that, he was assistant professor ("Juniorprofessor") at the University of Bonn. He obtained his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics in 2013.

Michael Böhm completed research stays at the University of British Columbia (funded by the German Research Foundation), University College London, Stockholm School of Economics, and Uppsala University. He is research fellow at the Swedish House of Finance (SHoF), Faculty at the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS), and a member of the Research Committee on Population Economics of the Verein für Socialpolitik.

Michael's research interests center around labor economics and its intersections with econometrics, firm productivity, personnel, technological change, and macroeconomics.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in March 2016 and became a Research Fellow in November 2021.

He is a member of IZA's research team on the Digital Transformation.
