Matthew Gudgeon is an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Tufts University. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from Boston University in 2018. Prior to joining Tufts he was an Assistant Professor at West Point. He is an applied microeconomist with research interests in Labor Economics, Public Economics, and Political Economy. His recent research has focused on the returns to military service, understanding labor supply and demand responses to tax and benefit policies, and the study of conflict.
Matthew Gudgeon became an IZA Research Affiliate in May 2023.
