Garima Sharma’s research focuses on development and labor economics. She studies the causes and consequences of gender disparities in the labor market, market power in developing countries, and the role of social protection in improving the lives of the poor.
In 2023-2024, she will be a post-doctoral fellow in the Industrial Relations Section at Princeton University. In 2024, she will begin as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Northwestern University.
Garima received her Ph.D. from MIT in 2023 and her BA from Stanford. She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in June 2023.
