Jan Sebastian Nimczik is a labor economist broadly interested in worker and job mobility. His recent research covers the scope of local labor markets, the role of worker mobility in knowledge diffusion, and the effects of network structures on labor markets.

Jan is an Assistant Professor of Economics at ESMT Berlin. He received his PhD from the University of Mannheim in fall 2017.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in April 2017 and became a Research Fellow in December 2023.
