Mette Gørtz is a Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics at University of Copenhagen. She received her PhD in Economics from University of Copenhagen in 2006. She has been a visiting scholar at University of Michigan (2005).

Her main research interests are family economics, health economics, labour economics and applied microeconometrics. Her research has been published in Economic Journal, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Demography.

Mette Gørtz joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2019.
